New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is in contract to buy a 1910 Georgian mansion in Shinnecock Hills for $22.5 million. The home is listed with Prudential Douglas Elliman.
The house is considered historic and sites on 35 acres of land while overlooking the Peconic Bay as well as the National Golf Links of America.
The house has black and white marbled floors throughout and has 11 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a pool, a tennis court, horse riding trails and horse stables. It is known as the Ballyshear Estate.
The property was on the market for just six weeks before it was snapped up by the billionaire mayor. It was listed by Paul Brennan of Prudential Douglas Elliman in Bridgehampton.
