The Most Serious Horse Show In The World If You Are 12 Years Old
Yesterday the Sagaponack Horse Show took place with hundreds of people attending the event. The show takes place every year at the Topping Riding Club and is one of the most important events for young riders to show off their stuff. The horse trainers at the event, which include Harriet de Leyer, Jenna B Esposito, Mercedes M. Olivieri and Ginger Kent were all in attendance at the Topping Farm and supporting their riders.
I have to say that this was one of the most adorable events that I’ve ever been to in the Hamptons. I’ve never seen a more serious group of kids looking to win first place in the competition and unlike most horse events in the Hamptons, this one is very relaxed and very low key in an absolutely stunning setting. This horse show is like heaven for real riders in the Hamptons and the professionalism and dedication displayed were on par with professional athletes. In the stands were mothers and fathers, as well as brothers, sisters, friends and cousins, all looking anxiously on. You also found a dog or two running around. This kind of thing is what the Hamptons is all about.
The age range for all competitors ranged from 3 years old to over 60, but it mostly young kids participating between the ages of 3 to 16 and most competitors were young girls, however there were a few guys participating in the show as well.
The event is truly a first class event and has been taking place in Sagaponack for the last 30 years.
The Head Show Secretary is Troy Powell “I’m just so happy that it was such a beutiful day. It’s a really nice show and it is a staple of the Hamptons.”
Powell also works for The Hampton Classic Horse Show.
You can view all of the winners of the events at the Sagaponack Horse Show Facebook page by clicking here. “The results should be up on our Facebook page later today, so keep checking!” Powell said.
