Anybody Else Kind of Annoyed That People Are Still Making Such a Big Deal About Irene?
Almost everybody I know has their lights back on in the Hamptons. But there are a few spots where electricity still isn’t running, including my condo in Southampton, but I’m not complaining—things are really nice out here in the Hamptons right now.
I have news for folks out there: HURRICANE IRENE IS OVER AND THE HAMPTONS IS FINE!
I think there are a lot of people right now who are still being a little overdramatic about Hurricane Irene. Almost all the beaches in the Hamptons are open right now and most businesses are up and running as well. Yes, there are few places still without power, and it’s frustrating, but it’s getting fixed and it’s not like there is no place to go to find electricity. As of right now, if you are without power on the East End, your are among a small group of people.
I’ve found not having power in my house to be extremely annoying, but there is one benefit to not having power—I’ve been sleeping like a baby. No electricity means that there is no television and no computer to keep me awake all night like they normally do, and I can’t remember a time in my life when I slept so well.
The cold showers in the morning aren’t fun, though.
