Let the Halloween Parties in the Hamptons Begin
You have your pirate costume ready to go, but you don’t know where the Halloween parties are on the East End? Here are 7 sensational Hamptons Halloween events full of tricks and treats guaranteed to help you scare up a good time.
There’s no need to wait until Halloween to get your ghoul on. The Haunted House Party at the Jedediah Hawkins Inn in Jamesport on Friday, October 28, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. has live music by Keith and the Preserves Jam Band, psychics and prizes for best costume (see the psychic first if you’re wagering on who’s going to win).
The mother of all Hamptons Halloween bashes is at B-Smith’s in Sag Harbor on Satruday, October 29 beginning at 8 p.m. and running until, well, forever. A Really Groovy ’70s Halloween Party is organized by Linda Batiancela, who has been doing this party since she was an owner of the Swamp in Wainscott (that goes way back!), and though the theme is the 1970s, ALL costumes are welcome—and you’ll want to wear yours, because there is a contest with a $500 First Prize!
This party always delivers, but you must ABSOLUTELY MUST wear a costume, or you won’t feel like you fit in. Those folks in Sag Harbor are party animals on Halloween, so don’t forget! And the party will also help a great cause—raising money for Bay Street Theater! (Remember that B-Smith’s is closed this time of year and the space is rented out by Bay Street, so if you have any questions contact Bay Street, not B-Smith’s.)
Also in Sag Harbor on Saturday night, Phao has its “Day of the Dead” Halloween party starting at 10:30 p.m., which also includes a Best Costume Contest starting at midnight (winners will be announced at 1 a.m.).
On Saturday, October 29 in Southampton at the Southampton Publick House, beginning at 10 p.m. is the father of all Halloween parties on the East End. Starts at 9 p.m. and goes on until 3 a.m.
On Saturday, October 29 in Amagansett beginning at 9 p.m. and running through the spooky hour of 2 in the morning is the Nightmare on Main Street party at Indian Wells Tavern bar and restaurant. If you wear a costume, drink specials are $5! A Nightmare On Main Street (Indian Wells Tavern)
If you can make it to Montauk, head out to Sole East on October 29 beginning at 8 p.m. and running until late night for The End Is Here party at Sole East.
In East Hampton on Halloween itself (that’s Monday October 31, in case you’ve been to too many parties by this point to remember) from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m. is the 12th Annual Rowdyween party at Rowdy Hall. This is a great party if you missed out on the weekend shennanigans.
