Brush Fire Is Contained

Thanks to some incredible efforts by locals and fire departments from all over the island, the brush fires that took place in Suffolk yesterday are under control and have been contained.
The fires destroyed more than 1000 acres of land. Three firefighters were injured in the battle. Firefighters, all volunteer, have been working round the clock.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone declared a state of emergency.
