I Searched "Hamptons" On Craigslist's "For Sale" Section And Found a Treasure
I have this fascination with seeing what’s up on craigslist.com, and every once in a while an ad catches my eye. Usually it’s a listing for something ridiculous, like an old Nintendo System that doesn’t work or a pair of used sneakers. But thanks to the beauty of the Internet, anything sells.
I laughed out loud when I saw this ad.

“In the Hamptons – My Fifty Years with Farmers, Fishermen, Artists, Billionaires, and Celebrities”. Dan Rattiner is the founder and editor of Dan’s Papers.
The book is a colorful insider’s account of life, love, scandal, and celebrity, “In the Hamptons” is an intimate portrait of a place and the people who formed and transformed it.
The book is in mint condition and is for midtown pick-up.
Needless to say, I contacted the seller to see if it had sold and, shockingly, it hasn’t! Who in their right mind would miss out on such a deal!
I’ve decided this morning that I’m going to buy the book if it doesn’t sell by the end of the day. But I make this offer to my readers. If you buy this book today and let me know that you did by e-mailing me, I will buy the book off of you for $16 AFTER you read it—OR, I will have my Dad personally sign the book with a signed certificate that declares this is the first copy of “In The Hamptons” to have ever been sold off of Craigslist (to our knowledge, of course). And I’ll get a picture of you and my Dad and place it on this blog.
It’s a can’t lose situation here. Let’s help this lady sell a copy of my Dad’s book!
