Gregg and Mitchell Rechler, managing partners of Long Island’s largest commercial real estate company, Rechler Equity Partners, were recently honored as “Business People of the Year” by the Southampton Business Alliance. The occasion was a golf outing at Southampton’s Sebonack Golf Course, host of the 2013 US Women’s Open.
“Gregg and Mitchell Rechler represent the third-generation of a family that has pioneered commercial development on Long Island for over 50 years,” commented Southampton Business Alliance President Aram Terchunian. “As managing partners of Rechler Equity Partners, they are now embarking on perhaps their most exciting and ambitious project to date — the development of the Hampton Business District at Gabreski. In recognition of the far-reaching economic benefit they bring to the region, cousins Mitchell and Gregg Rechler have been named ‘Business People of the Year’ by the Southampton Business Alliance. We congratulate them and look forward to their progress at Gabreski in the coming months and years.”
The Hampton Business District at Gabreski will be the East End’s first world-class business park. Comprised of nine buildings totaling 440,000 square feet, the park will accommodate the needs of small and large businesses alike with available space ranging from 2,000 square feet up to 100,000 square feet. Zoned for general commercial use, the Hampton Business District will also feature a day care center and full-service hotel. Development is expected to begin in late 2012.
Developing Long Island for over 50 years, Rechler Equity Partners is the region’s largest owner of commercial real estate with a portfolio of assets totaling over six million square feet. Rechler Equity offers a wide range of services that includes leasing, property management, asset management, architecture, construction, environmental, finance and development.
