Shop the Hamptons This Memorial Day Weekend
Well, it is officially summer! Happy Memorial Day Weekend! With most of the rainy days behind us, the sunshine brings out the best in everyone…people are out there shopping for patio furniture, pool toys, flowers, planters, you name it, they are shopping for it…and the beat goes on…
Starting out in Eastport, on my way home from my son Randy’s house in Massapequa Shores, I stopped into one of my old time faves, Beyond the Beaten Path. For 18 years, this shop has been one of the best-kept secrets on the East End. A special haunt for designers, stylists and discerning collectors, the Soho-like store is filled with delightful treasures and one-of-a-kind pieces. Owner, Emily Weiss, creates unique, artful jewelry and re-designs both vintage and new items. The displays are creative and imaginative. The store, a must-see that has been re-done and revamped for the upcoming season, holds an eclectic mix of past and present, and it features contemporary gifts amongst a collection of fine antiques. Emily is now offering a personal shopping service and can be reached at 631-325-2105 and visit www.beyondgifts.net See photo.
Our fashion reporter Tricia Marshall says that LF speaks it’s own language, which says they’ve got it all – vintage Furst of a Kind T’s with open backs and embellishments. Color-block Lita Jeffrey Campbell platforms. How about an exclusive harness necklace by Luv AJ. Vanessa, decked out in a backless baby doll dress and cowboy boots says “It’s all about the LF girl who’s fearless, bold and not afraid to mix and match trying various looks.” Associate Lisa demonstrated how to “tweak” pieces wearing “cheeky” shorts under a tank dress with a bandeau. LF’s collection of denim is a collectors dream. I loved the studded shirts and jackets. No matter what your style represents, you’ll leave with at least one piece that spruces up your wardrobe. The preppy girl would love the lemon yellow pleated skirt. There’s an array of arrowhead accessories for the revamp enthusiast or studded boots for the hip rock star!
