Instead of 8th grade, the Springs School in East Hampton is considering teaching sex education to fifth graders.
The health teacher of the school, John Foster, proposed to the School Board that kids need to learn about sex and sexually transmitted diseases at 10 or 11 years old instead of 13 years old.
The Board Members at the school have recommended creating a committee of parents and school teachers and officials to make a decision on the change.
