Your East End “Special Agents”
How many of us have endured several career changes in our lifetime? The truth of the matter is that many people go through four or five career changes. Career paths and talents can be used as stepping stones to the next stage in life and we quickly learn how to turn adversity into opportunity.
Barbara Bornstein, of Sotheby’s International Realty in Bridgehampton has been a very successful top-selling agent in the Hamptons since the early 90s. In addition, she is an active member of The Southampton Trails Society (for 20 years), a member of HOT (Horses on Trails) and the Friends of Long Pond Greenbelt Reclamation Project. Bornstein’s passion for the preservation of our natural trails and land offers her a unique insight into the real estate market. Bornstein believes that we should not only look into our own backyards, but encourages us to look at all of our surroundings.
Her knowledge of preserved trails and protected land afforded her the opportunity to share this information in her business practice. Many of her clients find it enormously valuable to know everything there is to know about their future surroundings. Some of her clients are avid runners, hikers, bikers and equestrians and they are eager to know where the closest trails and parks are located.
Open space is an important part of maintaining trails and protected land on the East End. These volunteer groups are dedicated to the mission of preservation. Bornstein spends much of her time following up on every detail with members of these groups and their projects to guarantee their protection and preservation by attending meetings and staying involved in local government. On June 3, the Trails Society will celebrate 20 years of advocacy and dedication to protecting open land with a celebration at Nova’s Ark Project.

Hulse’s passion for music and enthusiasm for making people happy has been integrated into his life and has contributed to his career as a top broker and successful business owner in the Hamptons.
“I’ve been known to sing for my clients,” Hulse jokingly said. Hulse continues to perform with his band Beau Hulse & LA Woman, a tribute band to Jim Morrison and the Doors for benefit concerts.
Patricia Hulse is a supporter of the arts, a member of the Southampton Artists Association and has supported local artists with events over the years. She has taken her love for the arts and incorporated it into her daily business. Hulse is also a certified Reike Master and astrologist.

Beau and Patricia Hulse are very involved in their community and have played an integral role in many local benefits including Long Island Music Hall of Fame Children’s Music Scholarship Fund, Southampton Hospital Breast Care Center, The Retreat and Parrish Art Museum benefits, as well as the upcoming concert to benefit war veterans on June 23.

For Barbara Bornstein and Beau and Patricia Hulse, being passionate comes naturally. They do what they love and incorporate it in ways that enhance their business and their everyday lives.
