The infamous Larry’s Legs sculpture, which has caused controversy in Sag Harbor, is still standing on Madison Street even though the deadline for it to be taken down was September 15.
The Legs are owned by Janet Lehr and Ruth Vered, who own the Vered Art Gallery in East Hampton and live in Sag Harbor. Sag Harbor Village will not enforce Larry’s Legs’ being taken down until a case is resolved in New York State court.
Lehr and Vered filed an Article 78 lawsuit to protest against the zoning board’s decision to take down the sculpture, and the case has not been decided on in New York State Court.
