I'm Pathetically Addicted To Revenge
I’ve been quietly watching the television show “Revenge” lately on Hulu.com and I’ve become slightly addicted. The whole show is based in the Hamptons, although in reality, there is almost never a shot accurately depicts the Hamptons. The reason for this is that the show is entirely filmed on I set in North Carolina and all of the footage that they have of the Hamptons is real footage that they take from a landscape perspective in-between certain scenes.
But none of that really matters to me anymore, as it did when I first heard about the show, because now that the show is on Hulu, I can watch it for free and it’s actually really, really, damn good. It’s loaded with lies, corny plot lines, backstabbing characters and great and cheesy-good-old-fashioned television. In my book there ain’t nothing wrong with that.
Is anybody else suffering from this problem with the television show “Revenge?” Is there anybody else out there who thinks that it is actually a great way to escape the realities of the world, even though it’s a completely made up version of the real Hamptons? I honestly, at this point, could care less. The rest of the world is always going to think that the Hamptons is different than it actually is.
I’m personally a fan. I’m not exactly sure why this is happened, maybe it has to do with the fact that this show is now free and I can watch it on the Internet easily or maybe it’s the fact that I’m from the Hamptons or maybe it’s just that I’m a sucker for really cheesy television. Whatever it is that is causing me to watch the show the fact of the matter is is that I’m watching, and there are many other Americans apparently watching it as well, as it is one of the largest shows on television right now.
So I’m no longer going to be ashamed of my “Revenge” addiction. I think today I’m going to embrace it. After all, it is Sunday. What else besides football is on?
