Did you know that Hamptons resident Steven Spielberg wanted to direct a James Bond movie but was turned down for the gig? Neither did we, but it’s true!
“I went to [Bond producer] Cubby Broccoli and I asked if I could do one and he said ‘No,'” said Spielberg in an interview with The Daily Mail. “I’ve never asked again. Instead, I made the Indiana Jones series.”
In an interesting twist of fate, if you think about it anyway, Spielberg was able to get Sean Connery to play the role of Indiana Jones’ father next to Harrison Ford and the world is always in need of James Bond directors that are awesome. Maybe Steven will do the new one they make post Skyfall?
That would be pretty cool.
