Billy Joel is one of those men and he does it with this 1989 hit that places your imagination in the middle of the chaotic life of men who live off the land. Joel describes the life and hardships of a commercial fisherman in Montauk perfectly, and the story remains relevant to this day.
Here’s some pop trivia for you, Joel was inspired by the name Alexa so much that he named his daughter Alexa Ray. The song represents the working man in the Hamptons during the summer time, also known as Bonackers, who heroically, year after year, put lobster on your dinner plate.
