The Hamptons International Film Festival And Southampton Center Present Fridays Outdoor Movies Under The Stars: This Week’s movie is “JAWS”
9:30 p.m.
This FREE screening series is held outdoors on the beautiful Arboretum Lawn at Southampton Center on 25 Jobs Lane. Films begin at sunset (approx. 8:30pm) unless otherwise noted. Bring your beach chairs, blankets and refreshments and enjoy an evening of film and entertainment. In the event of rain, all outdoor film screenings will be moved indoors. “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum” Presented by Bay Street Theatre In Sag Harbor
8 p.m.
Book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart. Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Musical Director Ethyl Will. Directed and Choreographed by Milgrom Dodge. The show stars Peter Scolari with Conrad John Schuck and Jackie Hoffman. Forum is a light-hearted, witty, irreverent, and one of the funniest musicals ever written. The 19th Annual Juried Fine Art Show on the Montauk Green
10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This signature event for Montauk and Long Island. The event runs from Friday, August 16 until Sunday, August 18. The tapestry of art is woven by the creations of painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelers and printmakers with original artwork in glass, ceramics and wood. All artwork is original and handmade. Saturday, August 17th
The 65th Annual Artists vs Writers charity softball game will be held at Herrick Park in East Hampton
Batting practice begins at 12 noon and the game starts at 2 p.m.
The event pits local actors, musicians and visual artists against Hamptons literary lions on the softball diamond, and it attracts a large crowd, thanks to the many celebrity players. In years past, Alan Alda, Paul Simon, Alec Baldwin, Chevy Chase, Ed Burns, Matthew Broderick, James Lipton, Jackson Pollock, Peter Jennings, Regis Philbin, Yogi Berra, Bill Clinton, Dan Rattiner and Rudy Giuliani have played or attended the game.
The Artists vs Writers softball game benefits numerous organizations on the East End, including East End Hospice, East Hampton Day Care Learning Center, Phoenix House of Long Island and The Retreat.
Batting practice begins at 12 noon and the game starts at 2 p.m. There will be refreshments, hotdogs, hamburgers and ice cream.
If sports aren’t really up your alley, a pre-game party at LTV Studios in Wainscott is held the evening before the game. The party will feature a live and silent auction, a performance by America’s Got Talent violinist SVET and food and beverages from local restaurants. The Pink Apron Party to Benefit The Ellen Hermanson Breast Cancer Center

The Pink Apron party benefits the Ellan Hermanson Breast Cancer Center at Southampton Hospital. Auctions items at the Pink Apron party include a round of golf at Shinnecock Hills, a week at an Italian villa, dinner at Rao’s, a luxurious Napa Valley weekend, swimming lesson with Olympian Ryan Lochtee. Tickets are available at the door of the event which is going to take place next to Southampton Hospital at the intersection of Wickapogue Road at Olde Town Road in Southampton. Bideawee’s Love On A Leash Walk

Lace Up and Leash Up for Bideawee’s Love on a Leash Walk on Saturday, August 17th and join pet lovers across Long Island in support of Bideawee. Families and pets will enjoy a beautiful summer walk through the Village of Westhampton Beach. The Walk begins at 8am starting and ending at the Village Green. Walkers will enjoy free food, drinks, music, giveaways, and more until 11am at the Green. When walkers register to walk in advance they receive a free Love on a Leash Walk t-shirt and special treats for you and your pet. Funds raised from the event will offset the cost of the life altering veterinary care, behavioral training, food and shelter that Bideawee provides the animals in their adoption facilities awaiting forever homes. The Hamptons Paddle and Party For Pink

The second annual summer “Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink” fundraiser, benefiting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation will be an event in two parts—a multi-skill level paddle boarding race and benefit party co-hosted by prominent New Yorkers Lisa and Richard Perry and full-time Hamptons residents Maria and Larry Baum. The event will bring together dozens of competitive paddle boarders and several hundred guests in support of raising critical funds for breast cancer research, and will take place at the spectacular residence of Lisa and Richard Perry.
