The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation has set up a live streaming webcam fixed over the habitat of a rescued harbor seal—and you can control it.
Visitors to the webpage may take control of the camera for 1-minute periods. They can pan and zoom to get the best view of the baby seal, named Commodore.
Commodore was found is distress on a beach off Dune Road in Westhampton Beach. He was diagnosed with a respiratory infection and it is expected he will be released in March.
His habitat includes a large pool with constantly and rapidly moving water, to simulate conditions of being in the surf.
