After taking one season off, Water Mill diva Jennifer Lopez appears to be enjoying her return to American Idol in Season 13.
Unlike the Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey panel of Season 12, the current set of judges should be feud free. Lopez and fellow judges Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban have been goofing off and having fun on set. They’ve even come up with their own sign language.
“When the right combination of people come together, it’s all brand new all over again,” Lopez says, describing her experience so far in a new promo video. First time judge, Connick, adds, “This year is all about having a good time.”
American Idol Season 13 premieres with a two-night event on January 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. on Fox, and word has it that Lopez may debut her new single “Same Girl” during Monday’s show (Jan. 16). She was recently seen shooting what was likely the video for her song in the Bronx.
JLo was a judge on American Idol Season 10 and 11, then took a year off for Season 12. She was replaced by Minaj and Carey, but the two fought bitterly on- and off-screen during much of the season. After much speculation, Lopez’ boyfriend Casper Smart finally spilled the beans that she would return this season.
