The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, will likely be visible from the East End of Long Island Wednesday night into the predawn hours Thursday.
According to accuweather.com and meteorologist Mark Paquette, the sun had a coronal mass ejection on Tuesday and those solar flares are headed toward Earth. The Northeast is expected to have the best view of the show, which will peak Thursday.
