Police: Driver Caught with Crack Cocaine

Southampton Town police arrested a Flanders man in Hampton Bays around 3 a.m. Friday and charged him with driving with a suspended license and felony drug possession.
Police said 28-year-old Walter A. Mims IV was stopped for a traffic violation when it was found his license was suspended and he was in possession of both crack cocaine and powder cocaine.
Police charged Mims with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. He was held overnight for morning arraignment.
