A 28-year-old Flanders man was arrested Saturday night and charged with felony driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Southampton Town police said Erwin A. Velasquez-Nij struck a parked car in Flanders and officers who responded to the scene determined he was drunk and placed him under arrest.
Velasquez-Nij was found to have a suspended license and an outstanding bench warrant from Southampton Town Justice Court for failure to pay a fine, according to police. He was held overnight for morning arraignment and his vehicle was impounded. No injuries were reported.
