Hamptons Dining Dish: St. Paddy's Day at Rowdy Hall, Indian Wells, Legend's, Fresh
St. Patrick’s Day season is upon us and some local restaurants are taking part in the festivities.
Rowdy Hall in East Hampton (631-324-8555) will be serving up a la carte specials including potato leek soup, corned beef and cabbage and an Irish whiskey chocolate cake. They will also offer a prix fixe dinner featuring the traditional holiday favorites. Indian Wells Tavern in Amagansett (631-267-0400) will be offering the classic Guinness pints for $5. Fresh Hamptons in Bridgehampton (631-534-4700) will be serving a special small plate option, in addition to their regular menu. On Monday, March 17, a corned beef, cabbage and potatoes plate ($6) will be available at the bar from 4 to 8 p.m. And Legend’s Restaurant in New Suffolk (631-734-5123) will be hosting bagpipers and Irish step dancers the day of, with a corned beef and cabbage special.
M.J. Dowling’s Steakhouse and Tavern in Sag Harbor is open daily, beginning at 4 p.m. during the week, noon on weekends, and at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday only. Appetizers include steamed mussels with cherry tomatoes, scallions, corn and sweet chili sauce, nachos caliente, chips topped with chili, pico de gallo, cheddar, jalapenos, sour cream and guacamole, and garlic bread. Entrées feature sizzling fajitas with your choice of chicken steak or shrimp, BBQ baby back ribs with fries and coleslaw, brick oven-roasted chicken with rosemary au jus, served with seasonal vegetables and mashed potatoes, and penne a la vodka. The Cooperage Inn in Baiting Hollow hosts “girls’ night out” every Wednesday beginning at 3:30 p.m. With the order of an entrée, ladies may enjoy starters at a discounted price of $5. Canal Café in Hampton Bays is now open for their ninth season, Thursday through Monday beginning at noon, closed at 9 p.m. on weekdays and 10 p.m. on weekends. Menu items include lobster corn fritters, fried oysters and vegetable spring rolls to start.
