Photos: Prime Time for Movie, Magazine and Catalog Shoots in the Hamptons
It’s that time of year when the days are getting longer and the temperature is rising but the summer crowds have yet to arrive—the prime time for film shoots in the Hamptons.
After Memorial Day, film permits are hard to come by for public locations in the Hamptons, as the towns and villages want to ensure movie and television crews aren’t disrupting residents and visitors’ enjoyment of the beaches and other attractions. So photography and film projects have to get their shooting done soon, or wait until after Labor Day to resume their work.
Christopher Walken and Amber Heard have been spotted around the Hamptons and in Riverhead in recent weeks for the film When I Live My Life Over Again. Student filmmaker YiYi Han shot scenes for her film Something About Wonder at Sacred Hearts and on the beach. Then just yesterday, a crew was shooting a woman in a red dress on a Meadow Lane beach in Southampton Village.
It was unclear whether yesterday’s was a still photography shoot for a magazine or catalog, or a film shoot for a scene in a TV show or movie. (Southampton Village Hall said this particular shoot did not have the required film permit to be on the beach yesterday.)
