Shop 'til You Drop: The 'Buzz' Is All Over the East End!
Can you feel it? That buzz of activity on the East End means summer isn’t far off. The Parrish Art Museum kicked things off with their annual Spring Fling this past Saturday, bringing locals and weekenders out for a fun night of dancing, schmoozing and bidding on prizes from the silent auction, in the name of raising funds for the museum’s educational programs. Over the weekend, the coffee lines at the Golden Pear in Southampton doubled, if not tripled, and those golden parking spots were becoming more of a rarity. Storefronts all over town are posting help wanted ads—yet another sign of summer’s pending return.
After a late night of dancing, Sunday morning began, as all ought, with breakfast at Goldberg’s. This time, it was the Westhampton Beach location—which has the same delicious fresh bagels and breakfast sandwiches as their multiple East End sisters and the added bonus of nice tables and chairs. Never an easy decision, my egg and Swiss on toasted multi-grain hit the spot but left a lingering desire for a sesame toasted with cream cheese. Goldberg’s Famous Deli & Restaurant is located at 65 Main Street, Westhampton Beach. Call 631-998-3878 or visit goldbergsfamouswhb.com.
From there, it was a sun-filled stroll to Island Surf to check out their new goods. They’ve moved things around to accommodate a great line of colorful hoodies, T-shirts and sweatpants bearing their name, as well as a whole Patagonia line, Sanouk flip-flops, Ray Ban and all sorts of sunglasses, skim boards, skateboards, paddleboards, surfboards and boogie boards, not to mention plenty of wetsuits and rash guards. And of course they just started putting out their beachwear, sunhats and all sorts of lifeguard-quality sunscreens. Who’s ready? Island Surf is located at 49 Sunset Ave, Westhampton Beach. Call 631-288-4155 or visit islandsurf.net.
When in Westhampton Beach, Vines and Branches is not to be missed. Stock up on specialty olive oils and vinegars in different flavors so the next time you have company, all you’ll need to do is pick up a baguette and a bottle of wine and the appetizers are taken care of. Vines & Branches is located at 118 Main Street, Westhampton Beach. Call 631-288-2100. Or, if you’re in Southampton, stop by at 94 Main Street. North Forkers looking for a taste of Italy can head to 477 Main Street in Greenport Village.

Their menu features a variety of styles named after famous hair icons, like the Jen [Aniston], a signature blowout with volume and classic style. Hamptons resident Gwyneth gets a nod, with a polished, smooth and sleek look. Ever so appropriate for the Hamptons is the Blake, a beachy look that will hold all night long.
