Brian McAuliff Recognized for Service to Scouting
Brian McAuliff, the founder and president of high-end electronics and home automation firm Bri-Tech, has received a prestigious Scouting award for all that he does for the Boy Scouts of America.
McAuliff is the recipient of the 2014 Silver Antelope Award for the BSA’s Northeast Region. New BSA National President Robert Gates, the former U.S. secretary of defense, presented McAuliff with the Silver Antelope at the May 23 national annual meeting of the Boy Scouts.
The award is only for registered Scouters of exceptional character, according to the BSA. McAuliff, who himself is an Eagle Scout, has been volunteering with the Suffolk County Council of the BSA for more than 20 years. He is a past council president and the current council vice president of marketing, as well as the Northeast Region vice president of marketing. He has been a Webelos leader, Scoutmaster, assistant Scoutmaster, Venturing advisor, merit badge counselor, district member-at-large, district camporee and activities chair, council executive board member, council camporee vice chair, 100th anniversary chair, National Eagle Scout Association representative, National Council representative, Area 2 marketing chair and membership committee member, Area 7 conference presenter, regional board member, regional vice president for marketing, National Jamboree Scoutmaster, and presenter on membership and marketing at the National Annual Meeting and Top Hands conference.
Past Scouting recognitions include membership in the Second Century Society of Scouting, a James E. West Fellowship, District Award of Merit, Scouter’s Training Award, Scoutmaster Award of Merit, Unit Leader Award of Merit, Scouter’s Key, and Silver Beaver Award. He is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s national honor society.
