GeekHampton's Donation to Pierson School Benefits Independent Bookstore
Sag Harbor’s GeekHampton offered its help to Pierson High School by donating a $500 gift card from BookHampton for the students to buy books.
BookHampton, similar to many local booksellers across the country, has been struggling to keep its continued business open. GeekHampton’s support of the bookstore, which at first was supposed to go directly to the business, is a meaningful step in helping BookHampton stay alive. BookHampton owner Charline Spektor suggested the donation be made to Pierson High School, thereby helping both the business and students.
Scott Fisher, the Pierson High School director of technology, accepted the gift card of behalf of the school on Monday.
GeekHampton, the only Apple specialist retailer on the East End, is an independent business, much like BookHampton.
BookHampton has locations in East Hampton, Southampton and Mattituck, and formerly Sag Harbor.
