Southampton Town Opening Satellite Land Management Office in Hampton Bays
The Town of Southampton is opening a satellite land management office on Monday, July 7, to serve the Hampton Bays community, making it easier for residents to submit permit applications.
The satellite office will be locate in the Hampton Bays Community Center at 25 Ponquogue Avenue. The main department of land management office is currently located in town hall on Hampton Road in downtown Southampton Village.
Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst spoke about increasing convenience for Hampton Bays residents who wish to apply for permits.
“Traffic alone creates major logistical hardships for residents and visitors to the East End. The satellite office will significantly reduce travel time for residents and workers who live or have job sites west of the canal,” she said.
Kyle Collins, the town planning and development administrator, also emphasized the need for a satellite office in Hampton Bays.
“Our goal is to make the permit submission process as clear and convenient as possible,” he said.
Permit applications available for submission at the satellite office include those in the building and zoning, planning, environment and engineering divisions. In the engineering division, the determination of potential road flooding is the only application that will be accepted.
The Hampton Bays office will be open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays exclusively.
The town advises residents to review requirements for all types of applications on their website. Questions regarding individual applications must be addressed at the central town hall location, either in person or over the phone.
