The 23rd annual Be-In Festival will be hosted by Painters’ Restaurant (416 S Country Rd, Brookhaven), on Saturday, August 23, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Be-In Festival is a grassroots music festival that started in 1988. From its beginnings and through today, the festival aims to establish a better community through music, charity and positive thinking.
“We are all part of an inter-connected web of existence,” states the Be-In website, beinfestival.org. “We touch each other’s lives and why not make that a good, positive experience?”
Be-In hopes to do so by incorporating cultural diversity into music, art, literature, and philosophy during the day-long festival. “It shows people that there is another way to live. Another way to Be.”
Performers at this year’s Be-In festival include The Acoustix (THE ELECTRIX ), Free Grass Union, George Mann, Finally Balanced, Gary Sellers, Aqua Cherry, Dave Christian, Bryan Gallo, Ahmad Ali, Zen Bock and John Beery. In addition to musical performances, there will be a glass-blowing demonstration by L.i.
