Guild Hall to Host Wine Fundraiser for Production of 'Hamlet'
Come, come, good wine is a good familiar creature
if it be well used; exclaim no more against it
– Othello, the Moor of Venice
Shakespeare’s Othello may be into wine, but toast to Hamlet next month at Guild Hall. The Round Table Theatre Company & Academy will host a fundraiser at Guild Hall in East Hampton on September 13, to underwrite its upcoming November production of Hamlet. The cost of entry is $20 cash or a $20 bottle of wine.
The evening includes food, wine, live entertainment and a silent auction of experiential one-of-a kind packages, such as a season pass to the Met Opera HD series at Guild Hall. The highlight of the night is the 9 p.m. drawing for the unique opportunity to win an Instant Wine Cellar, featuring various vintages and varietals brought by patrons, including those donated by local wine stores and vineyards, with some bottles valued over $100.
“The cost of entry allows for all members of our community to help bring Hamlet to the East End while having a fun and affordable night out,” said Morgan Vaughan, co-founder with husband Tristan Vaughan, of the Round Table Theatre Company & Academy. “It is our goal to make all our productions, fundraisers, plays and classes accessible.”
The fundraiser will be Saturday, September 13, from 7 to 10 p.m.
Performances of Hamlet will take place at Guild Hall from November 7 to November 23, Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students. Visit guildhall.org or roundtabletheatrecompany.org for more details
