Jimmy Jam This Sunday at Talkhouse Benefits Jim Lawler
East End musician Jim Lawler has suffered a number of health issues lately and medical bills have piled up, so members of the Hamptons musical community are putting on a benefit concert on Sunday, December 14, to help him out.
Announced performers include the Hoodoo Loungers, Gene Casey, OCDC, Lynn Blue and Mick Hargreaves, Inda Eaton, and Klyph Black. More are expected to join them.
Lawler is drummer for The Complete Unknowns and a member of Mamalee Rose and Friends.
“Jim Lawler is wonderful caring person that is one the first people to help others in need,” organizers state. “… he is known for his big heart and effusive enthusiastic spirit. Jimmy just had a ‘pre-malignant’ tumor removed at Southhampton Hospital. Everyone that knows Jimmy also knows he’s always working at three to four different occupations to make make ends meet. While he has insurance, not all of his bills will be covered and unexpected expenses loom. We hope to cover those expenses, and if this event is successful, share funds raised with Paddlers for Humanity so other families in the community are served as well.”
The show is from 6:30 to 10 p.m. The suggested donation is $20, at the door. Stephen Talkhouse is located at 161 Main Street, Amagansett.
