The historic building at 290 Main Street in Sag Harbor Village—where Canio’s Books has been located for more than three decades—has hit the market.
In addition to the 886 square feet of retail space, the building includes three apartments, according to the real estate listing from Douglas Elliman.
The first-floor apartment has two bedrooms, two baths, a washer and dryer, and a private brick patio. The second-floor apartments are a one-bedroom, one-bath and a two-bedroom, two-bath, with shared washer and dryer. The original wide plank flooring and moldings are intact.
The 4,500-square-foot main building is accompanied by a pool and and a 1,000-square-foot pool house. Amenities include seven off-street parking spaces. The lot is .35 acres.
The asking price is $2.9 million.
Canio Pavone founded Canio’s Books in 1980. The shop changed hands in 1999. Maryann Calendrille and Kathryn Szoka have owned and operated Canio’s since then.
