Cabin Fever Music Festival Returns in February
The Cabin Fever Music Festival, back for its eighth go-round, begins February 7, this year featuring 21 independent bands and artists.
Founder Brendon Henry says he is excited to be introducing up-and-coming new bands—some whose members were in high school when Cabin Fever got its start.
Henry mostly books bands that are based between Montauk and Mastic, but he will draw on bands from further afield as well—Shipwrecks from Long Beach and Planeside from Purchase are returning.
His own bands, Haunted Hacienda and Adam’s Atoms, will both perform. Rounding out the lineup are Satchel Boogie, Souliztick, Mick Hargreaves, Rich Lamiroult, Three Year Theory, Foodie Watts, The Realm, Andrew Cooper, Kyle Horn, Acid Rain, Eva Adalai, Project Vibe, The Tweekers, Flak Jacket, Contagious Drip, Warm Needles and Black Leaf.
Some bands are well established. Others don’t always have the opportunity to play in front of this many people, Henry says.
There will be eight shows this year. Henry explains that he truncated the schedule to avoid competing with Valentine’s Day and the Super Bowl, when pubs will have no problem drawing crowds anyway. He started the festival not only to give bands exposure and have a good time, but to be a boon to local bars during a slow time of year.
The festival will return to Southampton Publick House in Southampton Village, Buckley’s Irish Pub in Center Moriches, and Cowfish and Buckley’s Inn Between in Hampton Bays. The festival will also have its first ever show at Doran’s in Hampton Bays, which recently underwent a renovation that will allow for bands to perform at the pub. Jimmy C’s in Hampton Bays is another new venue for the festival—but not really. The bar was previously known as the Fisherman’s Quarters, which Henry’s family owned.
Henry is proud to announce that the cover charge at the door is still just $5, the same price it has always been since Day One.
All shows are 21 and older to attend.
