Habitat For Humanity Seeks Help Building North Fork Home
Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk is seeking volunteers and sponsors to help build a family’s dream home in Orient Point.
No experience is needed to participate in build days, which are held from 9 a.m.– 2 p.m., but all volunteers must arrive ready to work, with closed-toed shoes and a willingness to learn.
Along with those who will actually participate in the home’s construction, Habitat of Suffolk is also looking for sponsors to help provide the funding needed to complete the project. Sponsers can give financial, material or service donations.
To find out more about build day schedules or information about sponsoring builds, contact Stephanie Busia, Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk’s manager of partnerships and communications, at [email protected]. Or call 631-HABITAT (422-4828), extension 100.
Over the last 25 years, Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk has helped more than 165 families become homeowners through their affordable housing program. Habitat Suffolk looks to build some of 12-15 houses annually, building for as long as needed to ensure that “every family in Suffolk County has a simple, decent and affordable place to live and call home.” Find out more at habitatsuffolk.org.
