Jason Alexander Withdraws from 'Other People's Money' at Bay Street
Actor Jason Alexander has signed on to replace Larry David in Fish in the Dark on Broadway, and, as a result, he will no longer star in Other People’s Money at Bay Street Theater this summer.
Alexander had been set to begin a run of the Jerry Sterner play on June 23 at the regional theater in Sag Harbor.
“It is with the greatest regret that I have to withdraw my commitment to Bay Street Theater and the production of Other People’s Money,” Alexander said. “I have been hearing for some time how glorious it is to work there and how successful and special every production has been, and how it serves its most appreciative audience. It is my fervent hope that I will have that experience in the near future. It is only unforeseen circumstances that have caused this change of plan and my desire to play at Bay Street has not lessened one bit.”
Bay Street is reconsidering the plan for the second play of its 2015 Mainstage season. The season begins May 26 with The New Sincerity, directed by Bob Balaban. The season will conclude with Grey Gardens, a musical running from August 4 to 30.
