Riverhead Police: Shoplifter Arrested at Outlets with $2,000 in Stolen Goods
Jordano Villada, a 24-year-old Elmhurst man, was arrested earlier this month at the Tanger Outlet Center and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, among other charges.
Riverhead police said that on March 9 at 4:17 p.m. they were called to the Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th outlet when the store reported a shoplifter in custody.
The store’s Asset Protection Department told police Villada stole 17 pairs of sunglasses, three Michael Kors knit hats and a pair of Versace shoes. According to authorities, the total value of the assets was $2,079.82. Police said they searched Villada and found bolt cutters and three packages of heroin.
Villada was additionally charged with seventh-degree possession of a criminal substance and possession of burglar’s tools, both misdemeanors.
