Southampton Town Distributing Free Feed for Waterfowl This Winter

In response to reports that a number of waterfowl have been found dead this winter, the Southampton Town Trustees have purchased feed cord to distribute to residents who wish to aid the starving birds.
The Southampton Town Bay Constables and the Trustee Maintenance Division wish to support black ducks and broadbill ducks, whose numbers were already at an all-time low prior to the severe winter and ice conditions that have made food scarce.
Already, 3,000 pounds of corn has been distributed. Anyone wishing to participate in the program may call the bay constable at 631-702-2268 to arrange to pick up feed.
