Hamptons Dining Dish: Long Island Restaurant Week, Navy Beach, Fresh, Harbor Grill, Almond
Long Island Restaurant Week kicks off this Sunday, April 26 and runs through Sunday, May 3. The eight-day promotion features three-course prix fixe menus available for $27.95 each, plus tax and gratuity at participating restaurants. Menus will be offered every night the restaurants are open, except for Saturday night, when it may be offered only until 7 p.m. Select East End participants include: Bistro 72 at Hotel Indigo East End in Riverhead; Cooperage Inn in Baiting Hollow; Cowfish and Rumba, both in Hampton Bays; noah’s in Greenport; Petulant Wino in Aquebogue; The Patio in Westhampton Beach; Touch of Venice in Cutchogue. Navy Beach in Montauk opens for the 2015 season Friday, April 24 at 5 p.m. For the opening weekend, the restaurant will serve dinner as well as weekend lunch. New menu items for the restaurant’s sixth season will include: PEI mussels in a red curry lobster sauce with sherry, cilantro, cashews and crème fraîche; pappardelle with blistered tomatoes, fava beans, shaved Parmesan and lemon butter; whole-fried local catch with cabbage slaw, scallions, popcorn shoots, chili threads and kimchi brown butter; and MTK seafood stew with clams, mussels, shrimp, squid, coconut milk, bamboo rice and dende oil. 631-668-6868. navybeach.com.
Fresh Hamptons in Bridgehampton hosts Taco Tuesday every Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m. The evening features a family-style taco dinner and costs $22 per adult and $12 per child, plus tax and gratuity. The appetizer features crisp corn tortillas with spicy tomatillo salsa. The main course features three warm soft corn tortillas with one choice of filling per person. Filling choices include: adobo chicken, short ribs, vegetarian chili and pan-blackened local fish. Taco toppings include: shredded organic romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar and Monterey jack cheeses, sliced jalapenos, diced red onions and sour cream, with a variety of hot sauces available. Almond in Bridgehampton has announced that its final Artists and Writers Night, hosted by poet Julie Sheehan, will take place on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 p.m. The evening will feature a three-course, family-style menu created by Executive Chef Jason Weiner.
