Rechler Equity Signs New Hamptons Business District Lease
Mitchell and Gregg Rechler of Rechler Equity Partners, the largest owner of commercial real estate on Long Island, has announced the company’s second tenant at the Hampton Business District (HBD) Home & Design Center at 220 Roger’s Way in Westhampton Beach. Carrier Enterprise Northeast, a distributor of HVAC products and accessories has signed on to lease a 4,570-square-foot space at the site, and will use it as a showroom and for warehousing its products.
Carrier is the second tenant at the HBD Home & Design Center, created to be a one-stop destination for area builders, remodelers, contractors and interior designers, with state-of-the-art showroom and warehouse space for tenants. The property is the first of nine buildings planned at the Hampton Business District. In October 2014, AC Lighting & Electric, a 62-year old lighting supply company, signed the first HBD lease for a 9,140-square-foot space, also part of the 60,000 square-foot property at 220 Roger’s Way, within the HBD Home & Design Center.
In response to the news, “This new lease marks another important milestone in developing the Hampton Business District and improving opportunities for those who want to live and work in the municipality,”Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst said in response to the news. “This is the kind of opportunity we need to continue to bring jobs and economic development here that is beyond the seasonal nature of the Hamptons.”
The Hampton Business District is a multi-use business park featuring corporate office, medical office, showroom, manufacturing, warehouse/distribution and a 145-room hotel near Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach. The planned nine-building complex, which broke ground in 2014, totals 440,000 square feet, combines traditional materials with modern forms, and will have space available starting at 1,333 square feet.
