Shop 'til You Drop: Wining and Winning on the East End
The East End may be a relatively small patch of land, but it’s home to some of the country’s most prominent wineries. One of the most prominent, Wölffer, will be opening the first winery-owned restaurant on Long Island. Wölffer Kitchen is located at 29 Main Street in Sag Harbor and will serve modern American eats with a Mediterranean influence and a focus on local, fresh, seasonal and—of course—wine-friendly food. Opening next month.
A worthy addition to your at-home wine collection is ONEHOPE Wine (onehopewine.com), which donates half of its profits to charitable causes. Their wines are all produced in partnership with Rob Mondavi, Jr. and their portfolio covers a wide range of price points, which means that your needs, from everyday BBQ wine to your special occasion sparkler, are covered.
And, speaking of barbeques, the things you’ll need, along with wine, to keep the party going all summer long are cooking tools. We love All-Clad’s Stainless Steel BBQ sets and grilling pans (all-clad.com), which guarantee perfect and even heat distribution—your steak’s perfect sear will be the talk of the town.
Whether you’re grilling up a storm in your backyard or heading to one of the Hamptons world famous beaches, don’t forget to throw InnoFlask portable speaker in your bag (innodevice.com). The portable speaker comes inside its own carrying case that’s no bigger than a sunglass case, allowing you to listen to your favorite tunes with ease. Better yet, despite its diminutive size and weight (under a pound), the sound is as clear as crystal and gets loud enough to cover a fairly large area.
InnoFlask also works fantastically as an outdoor workout companion—especially if you take a pre-workout boost via Eboost’s latest launch Pow (Ricky’s, 50 Main Street, East Hampton). The brand is calling it a workout aphrodisiac and they’re on the money (seriously!). Simply mix the brightly hued powder with water and lots of ice—the colder, the better tasting—and down it five minutes before
your workout.
Post sweat session cool down with Fishers Island Lemonade (filemonade.com), a craft cocktail made with vodka and whisky, natural lemon and honey at 9% ABV. Originated at The Pequot Inn, Fishers Island’s only bar, this is the first time it has been canned and made available off island.
Also infused with lemon is the just launched Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Jaune from Lacoste (817 Tanger Mall Drive, Riverhead; $45 for 50ml). Light and bright, the men’s fragrance is so refreshing it could easily work as a unisex scent. It’s also worth noting that this fragrance was specifically designed to incorporate ingredients that have been shown to have health benefits (we feel better about downing all those Tate’s cookies already!)
On the fashion front clover cloth, a new lifestyle apparel line available exclusively at LURKshop (28 West Water Street, Sag Harbor), has your organic tanks and tees needs covered while Galet, the French luxury loafer brand has launched Tour de Galet. The mobile retail pop-up store has embarked on a tour of the Hamptons with stops at Navy Beach, Rushmeyers and more throughout the season.
No matter where the weekend takes you don’t forget to lather up with the East End’s very own Hampton Sun (Sag Harbor Pharmacy, 120 Main Street, Sag Harbor). The brand has just launched their new Sunless Tanning Mist.
