The Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is seeking information on what appear to be ritualistic killings of three goats whose decapitated bodies were dumped in Riverhead.
Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA said the gruesome discovery was made and reported to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, who then reported it to the Suffolk SPCA. The dead animals were found on the Otis Pike Preserve on Line Road near pole #5. The heads were found nearby as were fruits and vegetables.
Gross said that anyone with information can call the Suffolk SPCA at 631-382-7722 and that all calls will be kept confidential.
