Bay Street Hosts One-Night Comedy Event with Darrell Hammond July 25
On Saturday, July 25, at 8 p.m., Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor will host a one-night special comedy show with Saturday Night Live alumnus Darrell Hammond.
Suggested for individuals age 17 and up, this event includes VIP tickets giving guests the opportunity to meet and interact with Hammond at the post-performance cocktail party.
Hammond is an actor and comedian who unofficially began his career at age 5 by practicing impressions of his family members at his home in Melbourne, Florida. When older, Hammond joined the cast of Saturday Night Live, where he took on numerous roles as politicians, media figures, celebrities and news anchors. Hammond tours comedy clubs and theaters displaying many impersonations that have gained critical renown nationwide. He is especially recognized for his impressions of such individuals as Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Sean Connery, Regis Philbin, Dan Rather, John Travolta, Jesse Jackson, Richard Dreyfus, Jay Leno and Ted Koppel. Hammond has also shown up in several feature films and television shows. Most recently, he was in a seven-episode arc on the FX series, Damages. Hammond is also credited with appearances on Law & Order.
The previously announced run of The Darrell Hammond Project, which had been scheduled for July 16 through 26, has been canceled. Bay Street attributes the cancellation to Hammond’s new commitments to Saturday Night Live and KFC, and the extension of the play Five Presidents.
Tickets for the one-night event can be purchased online at baystreet.org or by calling the box office at 631-725-9500.
