Happy Birthday, Sandra Lee! The TV chef, author and Hamptons regular celebrated her 49th birthday with longtime beau Gov. Andrew Cuomo during a stay at Richard Gere’s Bedford Post Inn in Bedford, NY last weekend.
Michael Paraskevas, this week’s cover artist and our weekly “Green Monkeys” cartoonist, is currently working on his next book. It’s called Mr. Moon and it will be published this fall. Sag Harbor mystery writer and pioneering magazine editor Harriet La Barre passed away last week at age 99. A memorial service will be held later this summer.

Bridgehampton Library’s Fridays at Five series kicked off for summer 2015 with a a reading by New York Times bestselling author and Pulitzer Prize Finalist Colson Whitehead, author of The Noble Hustle: Poker, Beef Jerky and Death, a nonfiction account of the 2011 World Series of Poker, and The Intuitionist, his first novel, which was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award and winner of the Quality Paperback Book Club’s New Voices Award.
