New Southampton Home for Missoni Home
Missoni Home is back in the Hamptons, with a new home at Pomme luxury living boutique in Southampton (94 Main Street, Southampton). Here, Pomme founder and interior designer Roxane Mosleh shares how Missoni Home came to Pomme, some of her home design and shopping tips, and how she would spend an ideal day in the Hamptons.
Can you tell us a little bit about your background?
I’m a trained interior designer with a passion for home furnishing and textiles. I’m also a member of the IIDA [International Interior Design Association] and ASID [American Society of Interior Designers] and have been an industry professional for 20 years, with a concentration on construction and high-end interior design.
What attracted you to Missoni Home?
The most obvious [attraction] is having the opportunity to work with brilliantly designed textiles and products. Truly, the best part of working with Missoni Home is to work with the family that stands behind this amazing brand. The Missoni family is the engine that makes the brand what it is. We feel blessed to be a part of their story and to help educate consumers on the mission of their family business.
Why Southampton?
It is the most central of the Hampton villages. It also has a huge summer following with high-end homeowners…Southampton has become a destination for the East End home furnishings market. What was once a very traditional area of the country is now home to some of the most magnificent modern and contemporary properties of the world…
Can you highlight some of your favorite pieces?
Some of my favorite Missoni Home pieces include anything from the Cordula furniture collection as well as the Nap modular sofa, which is a great product and perfect for indoor or outdoor use…
What would you say to people who are afraid of prints and color?
Color sets the tone of a room and is an opportunity to showcase one’s personality. My job is to educate people on color theory and how to put colors together and create different moods. There is always a solution for every person’s taste and personality.
What’s the first thing you notice when you walk into someone’s home?
Clutter. Everything should have a place and a purpose in the room.
Biggest design pet peeve?
Poor space planning. It’s so important to use space wisely in order to create a nice environment and an environment that has a “good flow.”
Any Hamptons hostess gift suggestions?
Apothia candles from Missoni Home. They smell wonderful and also make a great decorative item.
One item you’re dying to splurge on this season?
I would love to use textiles from the new Lilium collection for new drapery in my living room. The Lilium collection is beautiful and one of my favorites in the new 2015 collection.
One item from Missoni Home everyone needs?
The throws, particularly in the Oswin and Humbert patterns, are priced well, comfortable, beautiful and stain-resistant.
Ideal day in the Hamptons?
…brunch at Pierre’s in Bridgehampton followed by a visit to Campbell Stables where my husband manages the barn to feed and visit the horses. And then to top off the day I would visit Coopers Beach for some rest and relaxation.
