Southampton Arts Center Presents 'Jurassic Park' Screening
Southampton Arts Center continues its summer movie series this Friday, August 14, with an outdoor screening of Jurassic Park presented by Hamptons International Film Festival and sponsored by Dan’s Papers.
Based on the novel by Michael Crichton and directed by East Hampton Oscar winner Steven Spielberg, the 1993 film takes the almost possible idea of cloning dinosaurs from ancient DNA and runs with it. Starring Sam Neil, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and a very Dan-like Richard Attenborough (hat and all), Jurassic Park takes audiences on a wild ride as the titular island theme park—a modern day dinosaur safari—goes completely wrong. It’s a race for survival as a carnivorous Tyrannosaurus rex and deadly Velociraptors, among other dinos, roam free on the island.
The screening will take place on the grounds of the Southampton Arts Center at 25 Jobs Lane in Southampton Village. Bring a blanket or beach chairs and a picnic.
Showtime is at approximately 8:30 p.m. and the film is 127 minutes long. Watch the trailer below.
