East Enders Told to Brace for Severe Weather, Flooding
After a dry couple months on the North Fork and in the Hamptons, the East End’s fortunes are about to change. Rain and severe weather are expected seven days straight beginning Tuesday evening.
According to the National Weather Service, the current warm and humid air mass on Long Island will soon be replaced by a cold front. Scattered showers are possible Tuesday evening, while showers becoming wide spread Tuesday night into Wednesday. Flooding is possible in areas with poor drainage.
Showers will taper off Wednesday night as the cold front moves east and unsettled weather will remain. It may rain every day through Monday. A period of heavy rain may occur later this week, renewing flood concerns.
