Filmmaker Nick Louvel Dies in East Hampton Crash
Nick Louvel, a Manhattan filmmaker, was killed in a single-car crash in East Hampton on September 24, according to police.
East Hampton Town Police Department reported Louvel was headed northbound on Route 114 when his 2005 Honda Accord crashed south of Stephen Hands Path. The vehicle crossed over the southbound lane and left the roadway, striking several trees a littler after 1 a.m., police said.
Louvel, a 34-year-old who lived on Park Avenue and also on Beach Lane in Wainscott, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Louvel’s documentary The Uncondemned, which he co-directed with Michele Mitchell, is scheduled to have its world premiere during the Hamptons International Film Festival next month.
