Shop 'til You Drop: Small Touches Make for Big Impact
Summer is over and it’s time to get moving! Whether that means heading out for a run or actually moving house, there’s an East End business to help.
First up, Windows and Walls Unlimited in Southampton (375 County Road 39) is celebrating its 30th year in business. Throughout the month of October, take 30% off on select Hunter Douglas products and, on October 10 from 2–5 p.m., they’ll be celebrating their anniversary with free food and additional savings throughout the store.
Also on deck is new kid on the block U-Haul Company of New York and Vermont. Gulluscio Storage on Shelter Island (20 Manwaring Road) has signed on as a U-Haul neighborhood dealer to serve the Shelter Island community. They offer U-Haul trucks, towing equipment, support rental items, storage and in-store pickup for boxes.
In line with that, it doesn’t take major purchases to make everyday tasks just a little bit easier—and keep the Hampton entertaining season going. Case in point Chef ‘n (chefn.com). The brand makes a wide variety of kitchen products, all of which look great and are so handy. Standouts include their Mini Magnetic Salt and Pepper Set. Shaped like bunnies, they have ergonomic handles, a sturdy construction, zinc or ceramic rasp, and are just as easy to use as they are to fill. Also check out the company’s new Large Salad Spinner, which has a unique lever system for super-quick drying, along with a non-skid base to keep everything in place. It’s unlike any other spinner we’ve seen, and it’s nice enough to double as a serving bowl.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, lokai has launched a limited-edition pink bracelet. lokai has already raised more than $400,000 for Susan G. Komen, surpassing their $250,000 promise and bringing them nearly halfway to reaching their $1 million goal. Their charitable bracelets retail for $18 (mylokai.com). Similarly, Jennifer Miller Jewelry will donate $25 for each breast cancer awareness bracelet sold throughout this month ($115, jennifermillerjewelry.com).
On the beauty front, get 50% of your next Brazilian blowout and 15% off a facial or massage throughout the month of October at John Dillon Salon & Day Spa (16 Hill Street Unit 5, Southampton). Also new and notable, Philip Kingsley is launching a handful of gift sets for the holiday season, each of which includes high-performance hair and scalp products designed to strengthen, silken and protect tresses well into the New Year. The standout is their Showstoppers Collection, which features six full-size hero products housed in a limited edition travel bag. It includes: Elasticizer, Body Building Shampoo, Moisture Balancing Conditioner, Daily Damage Defence, Maximizer, and a handbag brush (philipkingsley.com $149 with a $209 value).
Lastly, for your furry friends, Friendship Collar (friendshipcollar.com) is a new vegan line inspired by the tradition of giving friendship bracelets. The brand extends the symbol of love and trust to your pet friends— a collar for your dog or cat with a matching bracelet for you.

While in Sag Harbor, you should check out the Bond No. 9 store adjacent to the American Hotel. There you’ll find their latest, one-of-a-kind scents including Bond No. 9’s Shelter Island, Sag Harbor, Montauk, Coney Island, Fire Island and Hamptons. “Hamptons” is a clean, sophisticated scent. Fire Island is strong with honeysuckle, though one of our editors ‘loves it because it smells like sunscreen.’ Coney Island is also clean and sophisticated, citrusy—it’s a rather sweet sort of scent but unlike cotton candy and not a bit like an ecdysiast…
