Dr. Bryan Hanypsiak Named Editor-in-Chief for Orthopedics Journal
One of the nation’s leading sports medicine specialists, Dr. Bryan Hanypsiak, MD, an orthopedist at Riverhead’s Krauss Musculoskeletal Institute (part of the PBMC Medical Group) since October 2015, has been named Editor-in-Chief for The American Journal of Orthopedics.
Reaching nearly 30,000 orthopedic surgeons annually, The American Journal of Orthopedics circulates to all physicians in orthopedics and trauma, as well as many rheumatologists. The journal publishes studies, case reports, review articles and orthopedic techniques monthly.
As the new editor-in-chief, Dr. Hanypsiak is currently working on a rebranding launch for the journal’s March 2016 issue. The March issue will be baseball themed in time for spring training/opening day and will feature articles written by Major League Baseball team physicians. “I am excited to work with so many talented surgeons on our editorial staff and help shape the future of the journal.” he says.
Dr. Hanypsiak is the former Director of Medical Education at Arthrex, Inc. in Naples, Florida, and has served as assistant team physician for professional sports teams including the Cleveland Browns of the NFL, the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA, the Cleveland Indians of MLB and the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League. He has also served as the attending physician for the summer and winter New York Empire State Games Hockey Tournament, the World Figure Skating Championships, Gravity Games and the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Dual Meet.
