Stella McCartney Buys Home in Amagansett
The East End is now home to another McCartney!
Fashion designer Stella McCartney, daughter of rock legend and former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, recently purchased a 1,350-square-foot home in Napeague with husband Alasdhair Willis for $1.5 million. The sale was through Douglas Elliman listing agents Dawn and Diana Neway.
Her new, cozy cottage rests on a .73-acre plot of land on the north side of the Napeague Stretch, located between Amagansett and Montauk. The humble but lovely home includes 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a sizable back deck overlooking Napeague Bay. The house is also built with an open floor plan that should help accommodate McCartney’s large family, despite the limited space.
The designer, 44, will be living close to her famous father, who resides near Fresh Pond in Amagansett with wife Nancy Shevell.
McCartney may consider either expanding or rebuilding the home to accommodate her four children and husband, but with a property that sits right on the bay, it’s hard to complain about space.
The creative director of Adidas, McCartney recently made news when she designed jackets for Team GB to wear at the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Rio—her first time designing the team’s opening ceremony uniforms—complete with dresses for female athletes and navy pea coats for males. Back in 2012, for Olympics in London, she designed kits—clothes and equipment needed for various sports—for Britain’s athletes.
