Mickey Paraskevas Chronicles Coldplay's Secret Hamptons Show in Pictures
Did you miss the secret Coldplay concert in the Hamptons on Sunday? Want to see what it was like?
Lucky for you, Dan’s Papers’ favorite artist Mickey Paraskevas was among the lucky few who attended the band’s secret SiriusXM show at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, and he chronicled it the best way he knows how—with drawings in his sketchbook!
The “Green Monkeys” and Junior Kroll artist shared the pictures and some thoughts on his blog (thegreenmonkeys.blogspot.com), noting, “Great show, very loud and the crowd was electric. A once in a lifetime event. The people from SiriusXM couldn’t have been nicer and the crew at the Talkhouse was fabulous.”
Paraskevas even took his 84-year-old mother in-law. “She was thrilled to be there and had a great time,” he said, adding, “The crew even provided her with ear plugs and water.”
Next, the artist will attend East Hampton Library’s Authors Night this Saturday, August 13. We expect some more exciting and gestural images, like the ones he drew of Coldplay and the scene in and outside the Talkhouse. We’ve shared them below.
Sometimes art captures a moment far better than a photograph ever could.
