See 'God of Carnage' at Southampton Cultural Center Through October 30
Center Stage at Southampton Cultural Center will present performances of Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage through Sunday, October 30. This “comedy without manners” involves two sets of parents who decide to meet in a civilized manner to discuss an altercation between their kids. But as the initially cordial evening progresses, the “adults” become increasingly childish and volatile, resulting in an all-out war.
On Broadway, God of Carnage was the winner of three Tony Awards, including Best Play, Leading Actress and Director. It was also adapted into a feature film in 2011, retitled Carnage, directed by Roman Polanski and starring Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and John C. Reilly. Foster and Winslet received Golden Globe nominations for their performances.
Edward Kassar, John Leonard, Catherine Maloney and Frances Sherman star. Michael Disher directs this Center Stage production.
Thursday performances are at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.. Performances will be held in Southampton Cultural Center’s Levitas Center for the Arts, located at 25 Pond Lane (across from Agawam Park) in Southampton.
